The tulip bulbs have been planted in the field again, and like every year we also have a plot that we cover with plastic. This usually happens four to six weeks after planting. The tulips will flower on average two to three weeks earlier after harvest than the ones that have not been covered. The pictures show how the plastic is rolled out, after which it is pulled tight, and then fixed by plowing a layer of soil over it. The wind can be strong in winter and early spring, so it is very important to fasten it properly. Otherwise it will start to tear, and it will no longer work to advance the bulbs. Next spring we will make pictures of the removal, so that you can see what the effect is.
